The Bench by Jilly's Grave

Love finds you in the most unexpected places.

​Amanda lost her best friend and sister, Jilly, three years ago, and for the past two years she has visited her grave on the anniversary of her funeral. A sick dog and a tetchy boss means that this year, she has no choice but to visit the day after the anniversary. Which is fine, even if annoying, because she's staunchly single (by choice – something Jilly always had a go at her about) with no commitments outside her work and her canine.

But when she gets there, there's a man on the bench by Jilly's grave, laying down flowers and whispering intimate words. Because it turns out he's not just any man, but Brian, the secret husband no one knew Jilly had.

Hurt and bewildered, over the course of the next few weeks, Amanda learns about a sister she never knew existed.

And Brian starts to stir a side of herself she never knew existed. Which massively messes up her 'staunchly single by choice' approach that's worked so well, so far.

As every secret about Jilly is revealed, Amanda's never felt more uncertain about the past, the present, or the future. The only thing she's certain of is she's falling head-over-heels in love with her sister's widowed husband.
